Our history
mission
Combating isolation among older adults through an international network of 14 organizations dedicated to solidarity.
The Fédération internationale des Petits frères des Pauvres brings together associations and other not-for- profit organizations which, by virtue of their mission and the work they do, help to combat loneliness and social isolation among elderly around the world.
Support and strengthen member organizations
The primary mission of the International Federation of Petits Frères des Pauvres is to support the development and organizational structure of its member organizations.
The Federation assists the associations in its network in strengthening their efforts to support isolated older adults. It promotes the sharing of experiences, the exchange of skills, and the pooling of knowledge.
Depending on needs and circumstances, the Federation may also provide ad hoc support for specific projects. The International Federation of Petits Frères des Pauvres positions itself as a development partner and a facilitator of cooperation within the network.
Through this support, the Federation helps strengthen member organizations, support their organizational development, and enhance the impact of their work on the ground.
Strengthening International Cooperation
The International Federation regularly organizes thematic meetings and working groups to enable its members to come together and work collaboratively. These forums for exchange promote the sharing of best practices, the circulation of innovative ideas, and mutual support among organizations committed to combating the isolation of older adults.
As an international organization, the International Federation of Petits Frères des Pauvres is convinced that solidarity knows no borders. Cooperation among organizations from different countries fosters a better understanding of local realities and enriches everyone’s practices.
Raise awareness about the challenges of aging
The International Federation of Petits Frères des Pauvres also helps raise awareness and advocate on issues related to population aging on a global scale.
Demographic aging is now a global phenomenon. No continent is spared, and many societies are not yet prepared to deal with the social consequences of this trend. The Federation works to raise awareness of the realities faced by isolated older adults and encourages a collective understanding of these issues.
